Afternoon in the Science Basement!

The Science Basement would like to invite you to listen and interact during an Afternoon in the Science Basement! 

The first speaker of the spring season in our public science talk series, Maria Dimitrova, a post-doctoral researcher from the University of Helsinki, will give us 'A not-so-deep dive into the physics of magnetic fields'.

When: 12th of February, 2025 at 17:30-18:30 Helsinki time (EEST)

Where: The Saarikoski Rug 

Description: You have probably played with a magnet, but have you ever wondered how it works? Do you know how magnets make our everyday life easier? In this talk, you will learn what a magnetic field is, and why only some objects react with magnets. Come and join us to learn and to discuss the physics of this amazing phenomenon!
