Election events at Oodi

In connection to the 2027 Finnish parliamentary election it’s possible to host both open and closed events at Oodi. The open events are held in cooperation with the library and the closed events are rentals.

Based on the Helsinki City’s instructions election events can be held from January 2nd to April 4th, and also from April 14th to April 16th. Election events cannot be held from April 5th to April 13th, or from April 17th to April 18th.

The priciples of safer space are followed in Oodi’s all spaces.

Principles of safer space

• There’s an application form for open election events, that is open from September 21st to October 31st 2026
• There has to be a representation from at least three political parties
• The event is open for everyone visiting the library
• One party can organize only one open election event in cooperation with the library during the election cycle
• The event is organized in cooperation with the library and there’s no rental fee for the event space
• We will market the event in our website and other channels
• The library makes the final decision of the event space and time
• Election materials cannot be distributed in the library

• We will charge the rental fee for the event venue according to the price list
• The events are to be held behind closed doors
• Election materials cannot be distributed outside the rented venue
• A possible roll up can be displayed outside the event space until the event begins after which it must be placed inside the venue
