Ulf Meyer is an architect and architectural writer from Berlin/Germany. He has followed Finnish and particularly Helsinki architecture for major German and international media for the past twenty years. He is the author of the Helsinki Architecture Guide book, published by DOM Publishers.

Helsinki is among the European cities that have undergone profound transformation in recent years. This third edition of the architectural
guide offers a comprehensive record of these changes. While central districts have largely retained their historic character, peripheral
areas have been reshaped through the conversion of former industrial and harbour sites into new residential and commercial quarters.
The guide is organised chronologically, allowing readers to trace architectural developments and stylistic shifts over time.

Two introductory essays provide architectural history and urban-planning context, while profiles of Finnish architects offer insight into the key figures who have shaped the city’s built environment.

Extensive maps, QR codes for precise location details, and up-to-date aerial photographs make this guide an indispensable companion for exploring one of northern Europe’s leading centres of architectural culture and design

To celebrate its new, revised and updated edition, Ulf Meyer will share his take on recent Helsinki architecture
