The exhibition What Remains is a Gesamtkunstwerk - a jointly produced work utilizing multiple mediums like video, sound, painting, installation and participatory workshops, for example.

The artists are a collective of students and teachers from the Aalto University Department of Art and Media. The exhibition emerges from material and conceptual surplus, which is transformed into more than individual works. Recycled materials, places and spaces, reflections, dreams, and senses are ingredients for our collaboration.

What Remains arose as a result of the collective’s exhibition Välillä Väärässä, set last summer in Väärätalo – a huge abandoned hotel-mall-complex in Imatra. The practice continues with what remains, what we still want to work on, and what feelings and thoughts have stayed with us from working with Väärätalo. The process has been guided by parallel thinking, coalescing into a collaboration built in Oodi’s Kuutio. What Remains forms spaces within a common space.
