Family Workshop with Laser Cutter

Helsinki Central Library Oodi

Oodi's Urban Workshop, second floor

Are you interested in making things by yourself?

The laser cutter is a fun tool to make things out of wood, cardboard, and even plastic! Oodi will be hosting a laser cutting workshop for families. In this workshop, you will design and make your own miniature wooden houses. You will first learn to use a simple computer program to create your designs. Then, we will laser cut them together. In the second part of the workshop, you will assemble and decorate your miniature houses.

You can participate as a child-adult pair. The workshop is suitable for children over 6. We have limited seats, so you have to register from the link below.

The teaching language will be English. It's okay if only the adult participant knows English and can translate for the child participant.

The workshop host is designer and maker Burak Türköz. He holds a master's in New Media from Aalto University, where he researched the usage of rapid prototyping tools for children's education.

The event is full!
