Ciao Ciao Festival will be held again on the Citizen Square in front of Oodi on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th May. The festival will have program also inside Oodi.

Photographic Exhibition: Echoes of the Sea

Echoes of the Sea is a photographic exhibition that captures the timeless connection between humans and the ocean. Each image tells a story of tranquillity, adventure, and reflection through serene landscapes, intimate moments, and dynamic silhouettes. 

11:00-13:20 Movie “Il Vangelo secondo Matteo”. Kino Regina, Oodi's 1st floor.

One of the most acclaimed religious portrayals in cinema history. Pasolini combines neorealist aesthetics with a gospel text.

The screening begins with a short introduction to Pasolini's work in English as part of the 50th anniversary of his death.

The movie is in Italian with Finnish subtitles. Running time 137 minutes.

13:00-14:00 Author Anna (Annarosa) Mattei's book presentation in Italian. Maijansali, Oodi's 1st floor. 

Author Anna (Annarosa) Mattei presents her latest book "La regina che amava la libertà. Storia di Cristina di Svezia dal Nord Europa alla Roma barocca", which tells the story of Queen Cristina of Sweden and her unique journey from Northern Europe to Baroque Rome.

Through anecdotes and historical context, the event will dive into the story of Cristina, a symbol of freedom and modern thinking in 17th century Europe.

14:00-14:30 and 15:00-15:30 The Voice of the Ocean - performance for children. Oodi's 3rd floor, children's area.

Livia Schweizer, as flutist and narrator, will present a concert-performance for children inspired by a small book ‘The Voice of the Ocean’ that Livia published in collaboration with the italian illustrator Costanza Lettieri.

The performance will be an occasion also to get to know different kinds of flutes, and the texts will be recited in Italian. The illustrations of the book are also by the Italian illustrator Costanza Lettieri (https://www.costanzalettieri.com/).
