Karl Ohiri: Rolling Footage
Rolling Footage (2019) is an experimental documentary video by Helsinki based artist Karl Ohiri that aims to shed light on what daily commuting is like for many of the mobility impaired people living in Lagos, Nigeria - where a lack of mobility planning and accessibility to infrastructure has led to inequality and social exclusion.
The documentary focuses on an individual named Ibrahim who has lower limb disability and whose primary method of transport is a self-built skate-board made of recycled board and roller skate wheels.
The video is being screened to coincide with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2024 - raising awareness to the challenges people with disabilities have to overcome all over the world in the pursuit for equality, inclusion and human rights.
