Reading from the ‘Odyssey’ in several European languages
The European Day of Languages takes place on 26 September. Welcome to the Helsinki Central Library Oodi to celebrate the linguistic diversity in Europe!
On 26 September at 17.00–18.00, you can listen to a passage from the Greek classic ‘Odyssey’ being recited in a wide range of European languages.
The passage is also performed in Finnish and Finnish-Swedish sign language.
The event is free of charge and takes place on the ‘Saarikoskimatto’ on the third floor of the library.
The reading from the ’Odyssey’ is organized by the European Commission Representation in Finland together with several EU embassies and language institutes in Finland, as well as with the Svenska nu network, the Finnish Association of Translators and Interpreters, the Nordic Culture Point, FILI – Finnish Literature Exchange, and the Finnish Association of the Deaf.
