Authored collaboratively by Sámi and non-Sámi experts, the book addresses contemporary legal developments and challenges in the field of Sámi rights, focusing particularly on governance issues related to traditional lands and resources.

Christina Allard is Associate Professor of Law at Luleå University of Technology in Sweden and chair of the Nordic Network for Sámi and Indigenous Peoples Law (NORSIL).
Monica Bjerklund is research group leader in health, education and welfare at Telemark Research Institute and Associate Professor in Education at the University of South-Eastern Norway.
Malin Brännströn is Director of Silvermuseet and the Institute for Arctic Land-scape Research (INSARC) and Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Luleå University of Technology.
Dorothée Cambou is Assistant Professor of sustainability science at the Faculty of Law and HELSUS at the University of Helsinki.
Leena Hansen is Docent in Indigenous peoples’ rights and works as a senior visiting researcher in the Northern Institute for Environmental and Minority Law, Arctic Centre, University of Lapland.
Øyvind Ravna is Professor of Law (Dr. Juris to PhD, 2008) and Head of the research group of Sámi and Indigenous law at UIT the Arctic University of Norway, Tromsø.
Mattias Åhren is Professor in International Law, Indigenous Rights Law, and Sami Law at UiT the Arctic University of Norway, Tromsø.
