Kino Regina, Oodi’s movie theatre

Did you know that there is a movie theatre on Oodi’s ground floor? The theatre Kino Regina is operated by Kavi, The National Audiovisual Institute if Finland. Regina’s archival series covers just about everything from the earliest examples of film history to the latest noteworthy releases: classics and forgotten gems, extensive retrospectives illuminating genre history and changing times.

Kino Regina has screenings on five days a week, from Wednesday to Sunday, approximately three screenings a day. There are 250 seats and 2 seats for wheel chairs. Also the whole first row is designed to be accessible for wheel chairs.

In addition to screenings, film education plays an important role in KAVI’s screening activities. Each year, around 8,000 kindergarten, school and college children and students attend the screenings curated for schools and educational institutions.

Kino Regina is also available for rent. You can arrange seminars, lectures, movie screenings and other events there. Kino Regina is available on Mondays and Tuesdays from 8:00 to 20:00 and from Wednesdays to Fridays from 8:00 to 17:00.
